The direct interface for CATIA V5 supports the efficient optimization of engineering challenges involving parametric 3D CAD modeling. It automates the creation of an engineering workflow that contains CATIA V5 model entries. A powerful embedded search engine offers dedicated filters, to simplify the selection of design parameters and result components from all CATIA V5 Part Geometry, Assembly and Analysis documents – allowing for an effortless parameterization.
Optimus orchestrates parametric simulation campaigns involving CATIA V5, freeing users from repetitive manual model changes and data processing. Using Optimus’ Design of Experiments (DOE), Response Surface Modeling (RSM) and Numerical Optimization methods, engineering teams quickly identify product designs that meet a combination of objectives set by multiple (often competing) performance targets. At the same time, design constraints imposed by manufacturing realities or stringent regulatory and standardization requirements are consistently taken into account.
Optimus automatically modifies the CATIA V5 design parameters, updates the underlying CATIA V5 documents and extracts the result outputs (scalar and vectors) in an automated multidisciplinary simulation or optimization process. To save valuable time during the automated simulation process, the interface for CATIA V5 provides support for server mode execution, keeping the CATIA V5 application open during the automated analysis sequence.
Built on Optimus’ User Customizable Interface (UCI) wrapper technology, the Optimus interface for CATIA V5 allows to access all advanced parameters and versions of CATIA V5 without any configuration programming - enabling the parameterization and workflow integration of any CATIA V5 model with just a few clicks. Thanks to the tight integration with the CATIA V5 framework, Optimus support the execution of CATIA V5 in parallel.
